Emirates ID Application & Renewal

Identity Management for Residents, Investors, Employees & Families

The Emirates ID is the official identity card for UAE residents, issued by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security (ICP). It is mandatory for accessing essential services, including banking, healthcare, telecom registration, government portals, and immigration procedures.
UAE nationals, residents, expatriates, investors, and dependents are required to apply for or renew their Emirates ID according to their visa validity. Emirates ID renewal is typically required every 5 or 10 years, depending on visa type.
At Dar Alnukhba Customer Care Center, we handle the complete Emirates ID process — from application preparation to biometric appointment coordination — ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely submission.

Emirates ID services are mandatory for all UAE residents and citizens, including:

  • UAE nationals
  • GCC nationals residing in the UAE
  • Expatriates with valid UAE residence visas
  • Newborns born in the UAE (upon issuance of a residence visa)

Every applicant must apply for an Emirates ID through an authorised channel in coordination with the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP). Emirates ID is a legal requirement for identification, visa processing, and access to public and private services. Dar Alnukhba Customer Care Center is authorised to assist with all Emirates ID services, including application, renewal, and replacement, in full compliance with ICP requirements.

To apply for an Emirates ID as a UAE resident or expatriate, the following documents are required:

  • Valid passport
  • UAE residence visa (or entry permit for first-time applicants)
  • Recent personal photo (white background, meeting ICP specifications)
  • Previous Emirates ID (for renewals or replacements, if available)
  • Lost ID report (only if applying for replacement due to loss)

Additional documents may be required in specific cases, such as the Parent’s Emirates ID and birth certificate (for children under 15) and Power of Attorney (if submitted by a third party).

The official fee for issuing a new Emirates ID card is AED 100 for each year of validity, corresponding to the validity period of your residence visa. In addition, the ICP charges a smart services fee of AED 100, plus an extra charge of AED 70 if the application is submitted through a typing centre. All payments are made via official ICP channels, and the total cost depends on the length of your visa and the service type selected. Dar Alnukhba Customer Care Center provides clients with a clear breakdown of government fees before submission, ensuring complete transparency.

Biometric capture is required for all new Emirates ID applications and for renewals or replacements where the applicant’s biometric data is outdated or incomplete. Applicants aged 15 and above must visit an authorised ICP Emirates ID biometrics centre to provide:

  • Fingerprints
  • Facial photograph
  • Digital signature

For applicants under 15, biometric capture is not required; however, a photo must still be submitted. Dar Alnukhba Customer Care Center experts will consult with you to determine if your case involves the collection of biometric data.

The standard government fee for the Emirates ID renewal in Dubai is AED 100 per year (based on visa validity). Additional charges may apply in individual cases. Dar Alnukhba Customer Care Center provides a complete cost breakdown before ID renewal applications and processes all payments through authorised ICP systems.

If your Emirates ID is lost, you must first report the loss to the nearest Emirates ID Customer Service Centre. A lost ID report will be issued, and is required to proceed with the replacement.

To replace the lost card, the following documents are required:

  • Valid passport
  • UAE residence visa
  • Personal photo (if under 15)
  • Lost ID report

There is an official replacement fee that includes AED 300 (ICP issuance fee). Additional charges may apply in individual cases. Dar Alnukhba Customer Care Center provides a complete cost breakdown before ID replacement applications and processes all payments through authorised ICP systems.

You can track the progress of your Emirates ID application through the Emirates ID status check service on the ICP official website.

To check your status, please enter your application number (PRAN) or Emirates ID number and view the latest update. Dar Alnukhba Customer Care Center also provides guidance and updates as part of our Emirates ID services, ensuring you stay informed throughout the entire process.

According to ICP guidelines, the standard processing time for issuing, renewing, or replacing an Emirates ID is five working days from the date of successful application submission and biometric capture (if required). Dar Alnukhba Customer Care Center provides comprehensive legal support, including document preparation and submission, to ensure timely processing and compliance with relevant regulations.
